Fishing Knots

OFFSHORE SWIVEL

An excellent knot to attach swivels or snap swivels to a double line.

Insert the loop end of the double line leader through the eye of the swivel. Rotate the loop end a half-turn to put one between the loop and swivel eye.

Place the loop with the twist over the swivel. Hold the end of the loop with both legs of the double-line leader with one hand. Let the swivel twist to the other end of the double loops now formed.

Still holding the loop and lines with one hand, use the other hand to rotate the swivel through the center of both loops, about 6 times.

Continue holding both legs of the double-line leader tightly and release the end of the loop. Moisten the twists. Pull on the swivel so the loops will begin to gather.

Draw the knot tight by gripping the swivel with pliers. While pulling, slide loops toward the eye of the hook with your fingernails.
